However, this may come at the cost of inability to sustain damage when the character fails to dodge an oncoming attack. Agility also increases the attack speed of the character, so they will be able to do more damage in a shorter period of time. The faster a character is, the less they will be hit, and thus the less damage they will sustain.

Upon reaching Job Lv 40, a Swordsman can become a Knight, using spears or two-handed swords for a more offensive approach, or a Crusader, the more defensive path that uses shields or two-handed spears effectively. Swordmen can also use spears however, it is recommended for them to wait until they reach their second job before using spears. The preferred weapon of choice is, obviously, a sword (one-handed or two-handed). Additionally, their elephant units will regenerate hit points once the unique technology Medical Corps is researched, increasing their longevity.The Swordsman is the master of melee, having the skills to receive minimal damage and restore HP while dishing out lots of damage.
